problem with devkit8500

I’m product 500 machines using deevkit8500D

And I’m in the big trouble

Sometimes the 7 inch LCD goes dark until we restart the system

the system not answering to ping

And the ti board not works

I think when the Vcc goes under the 4.7 V (for sum noise) this problem happened

When the Vcc back to the 5V the system must be restart but it hanging until i restart the ti with my hand

I’m using the kernel 2.6.32

Please guide me to solve this problem

Hi Muhammad,

According to the DevKit8500D/A Evaluation Kit datasheet the board requires input voltage +5 VDC but there is no specified input voltage tolerance

This board is manufactured by mbest and you could contact with them at support@embest-tech.com for information about the input voltage tolerance but I suggest you to try to stabilize the input voltage.

I’m contacting with EMBEST support and we are still negotiating

During this problem one question make my Brain busy

The question is why the watchdog of arm processor not restart the processor and its seems the watchdog not working in this situations ( the watchdog are active )

Hi Mohammad,

It is hard to answer this question because there is not a log before the voltage drops and it is not clear in what state is the processor but you can find description of the watchdog mechanism in the DM37x processors in the TRM section 16.4 Watchdog timers.
