DM8148 - M3 and DSP hangup

Dear Experts,

Sometimes we meet M3 hangup or DSP(C6X) hangup, but A8 is alive.

We cannot find the root cause.

1) Is there method to debug this issue? only can use CCS? How to use it to debug this issue?

2) Can we reset M3 or DSP individually/separately? How to do that?

  • You need CCS to debug hang. You may be able to get some info from backtrace generated by dvr_rdk when sw/hw execption occurs but mostly you require CCS for debugging complex issues.

    If you can recreate the issue with CCS+JTAG connected we can have remote debug session via webex.

    It is not possible to individually reset and recover from M3/c674 hang due to syslink limitation.

    Yes, we can use CCS+JTA to duplicate this issue, but need 30mins ~ 2hours to duplicate.

    Currently, we use XDS100V2.

    But we don't have webex, we can try to use a trial version (only 14 days).

    (How about using teamviewer? can you use it to do remote debug session?)

    When is your available time? (We are in GMT+8 time zone)

    How can we start this remote debug session?

    Do you have document to teach us how to prepare environment then you can easily to debug it? it will be better~
