TI RTOS 2.00.01.23 install fails on Ubuntu 14.04 host

Hi Team,

This is a report for some installation issues with TI RTOS 2.00.01.23 on the latest Ubuntu 14.04 LTS host platform (64 Bit desktop).

I've just had the same problem when trying to install CGT 4.7.8. There are reports of other TI installers that crash on Ubuntu 14.04, but work on previous versions and several work arounds: (http://e2e.ti.com/support/embedded/linux/f/354/p/336913/1176982.aspx).

For reference Ubuntu have deprecated the 32 bit package "ia32-libs" in 13.10 and later. If you want 32 bit compatibility you now have to install all the individual packages by hand, which is possible but then need to maintained (for CCS dependencies they are listed on the TI CCS wiki).

In this case we have already installed the 32 bit packages required to run CCSv6 on 14.04 which succeeds however there are still issues with the TI_RTOS install.

In the meantime Ubuntu 12.04 is the best way to go. Are there no plans to move to 64-bit Linux installs?

Regards,

Garry
