MAP3 bit block transfer acceleration

Does OMAP3 supports bit block transfer acceleration for its display interface subsystem? I’ve looked at the TRM and could not find references to it. (I am not sure if this message is located under the right category, and if not, I'd appreciate if you could let me know where to post it).

The OMAP3 does not have a specialized hardware blitter for bit block transfers, the display sub system is limited to the overlays described in the TRM, primarily for mixing graphics and video layers together. The SGX graphics sub system on the OMAP3 supports 2d with vector rendering, however unfortunately it does not support raster graphics acceleration.

In general you would perform the bit block transfers on the ARM itself, with the Cortex-A8 on the OMAP3 these can be accelerated with NEON instructions, however there are other alternatives such as using the DSP to accelerate blitting with bitblit.
