Hi,

In datasheets, there are two boot mode via DIP switch

A. boot

B. no boot

Case A,

Arm is booting linux normally, which mode DSP is in this case ?

Is it possible to boot DSP ?

Case B,

How to boot ARM with linux ?

ARM and DSP are run program from JTAG ?

In above two case, is it possible that ARM is in little-endian and DSP is in big-endian ?

Hi,

Case A(boot):

By default, the DSP cores are powered down by u-boot at the time of EVM boot. After kernel is running, MPM can be used to load and run DSP images from Linux command-line/utility.

All secondary ARM cores are held in reset during the boot process. All DSP cores execute an IDLE command. When a DSP is needed, any active core may load code from the DSP core to the execution address, write the execution address to the boot magic address, and generate an IPC interrupt to the core. The DSP will then come out of the idle stat and begin executing the code provided to it.

Case B(no boot):

In case B, JTAG shall be used to download and run binaries from MSMC RAM. Please follow below wiki to boot Linux using CCS.

I have another question.

EVMK2H's DIP switch set u-boot.

In this case, according your explanations, ARM can load and start DSP cores via MPM.

Is it possible set DSP big-endian in this circumstances ?

If in no boot mode,

ARM is run LInux as little endian(from JTAG).

Is it possible to run DSP big-endian mode ?

From the wikis it is understood that, ARM and DSP cores can not operate at different endian.

Also, there is no big endian support available for ARM core.
