Procedure to convert of DSP BIOS .out image to .xe66 format

The extension .xe66 seems that it corresponds to simple renaming of an ELF .out executable file, but SYSBIOS seems to be mandatory - perhaps it adds all the code necessary to bring the core out of reset, with reset/interrupt vector table initialization.

SyS/BIOS IPC sample application executable are in elf formats and are named as <apps_name><target_platform>
<core_id>.xe66. So pick executable with core_id 1 for Core1, core_id 2 for Core2 and so forth. The elf loader, mcoreloader under /usr/bin is used for this purpose. Assume the SysLink.ko files, exe and BIOS/IPC sample exe files are copied to /opt/syslink_evmc6678.el folder.

In forum there are not many knowledgeable people about Linux running on C6x. I strongly suggest you ask additional questions in either the device or the TI-RTOS forums http://e2e.ti.com/support/embedded/tirtos/f/355.aspx (they may know what file formats SysLink supports).

In addition to what Yanko mentioned, please take a look at the dspdce Makefiles present in the GLSDK 6.04.00.02 for an example on how the xe66 format binary is generted.
