Hi All,

In TMS320C6678 Multicore Fixed and Floating-Point Digital Signal Processor Datasheet,

Section (2.5.2.5) I2C Boot Device Configuration,

2.5.2.5.1 I2C Master Mode,

Questions?

1. Why two address are provided ( 0x50 / 0x51 ) ?

2. If they are provided for any particular reason, can you explain?

Hi Avinash,

There are two banks in the I2C SEEPROM which respond separately at addresses 0x50 and 0x51. These banks can be loaded with demonstration programs. Currently, the bank at 0x50 contains the I2C boot code and PLL initialization procedure and the bank at 0x51 contains the second level boot-loader program. The second level boot-loader can be used to run the POST program or launch the OOB demonstration from NOR flash memory.

Hi Ganapathi Dhandapani,

In our customized Board, we are using 128KB of EEPROM. Our Doubt is Whether in 0x50 can load with IBL code and in 0x51 can we load with our customized application code or can we perform vice-verse. Is it possible that the above can be implemented.

Hi Avinash,

It is not possible.

IBL is flashed at EEPROM 0x51 address and POST is flashed at EEPROM 0x50 address. Refer MCSDK user guide for information.

Hi,

IBL can be loaded in i2c 0x50 address ??

We loaded IBL to 0x50 and boot settings are also proper but still IBL is not booting.

What issues can be there for IBL booting?
