LCDK Interface to Robot

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

Is there a recommended practice for interfacing an LCDK to a robot? That is, taking in multiple low-frequency analog inputs, and providing analog/discrete and PWM outputs. I know that the LCDK can't do it alone, so what is the best way to interface to, say, a Beaglebone Black?
