EtherCAT Demo on ICE revision v2

Hi,

Where could I find the details of the EtherCAT Demo for ICE revision v2.
I was able to execute the demo in older ICE version, but there are no much details about ICE v2.

According to the AM335x TwinCAT wiki page(below), it mentions we can control the LED outputs
through "RxPDO >32Bit Output to control the output LED", but the LED outputs don't change even if I write
some value on the TwinCAT RxPDO >32Bit Output.

And also it mentions "There are jumper pins marked J9 (ICE) and J15 (IDK) on the AM335x board next to the digital output LEDs."
but I couldn't find the J9 jumper on ICE v2(it seems something else is connected on J9) .

I believe the above wiki is not updated since older ICE version.
Could you please let me know how to check the EtherCAT Demo on ICE revision v2.

Prad,

There is no difference as such in the applications between ICEv1 and ICEv2(except the changes in hardware layout). Please take care of the ICSS/CPSW jumper configuration(J18 and J19)

You can see Digital inputs at J14, will update the docs soon.

Thank you,

I have done the jumper configurations for ICSS and the LINK/Activity LED is also blinking
properly so I think TwinCAT(Master) is properly communicating with the ICE board.
But the problem is I am not able to change the LED output through TwinCAT settings
even in the Demo Code and the Full EtherCAT stack version(ecat_appl).
I believe you could re-produce this issue on ICE v2 board.

Meanwhile we don't have such problems with the older ICE board.

Prad,

Are you using the latest ISDK(1.1.0.4)? I just tried the pre-built binary and could toggle the LEDs without any issues.

Yes we are using the latest version(v1.1.0.4).

Hi Vinesh,

I was able to test the LEDs properly.
The problem was the TwinCAT software version.
I installed TwinCAT 3 version and everything worked properly.

The below wiki page is older and links to older versions of TwinCAT.

I am using TwinCATv2.11, no issues here. Are you using a Windows 7 machine?

Yes I tried TwinCATv2.11 on both Windows 7 and Windows XP,
both didn't work properly.
Now it works fine with TwinCAT 3 on windows 7.

TwinCATv2.11 has issues with WIndows 7 it seems, but works without issues on Windows XP for me. You see this behavior only on ICEv2?

Yes, this issue is only on the ICE v2, it works fine on ICEv1.
We shall continue to use the TwinCAT 3 version only.

Vinesh,

I am extremely sorry that I have already shipped this board to our customer
and I shall do the testing once I receive the board back & send you the details.

One thing I noticed was the the LED nearby the Ethernet Jack(which I think indicates the EtherCAT comm)
was blinking all the time in case of this issue and the LED was ON all the time in case of a
proper operation.

Meanwhile, if possible please let me know if there are any comments on the below question.
