Is there any change for the EMAC in DM8168CCYG (Silicon Version 2.1)?

Hi,

I am now using DM8168 for developing.  Last year, we fabricated a batch of custom board which employ DM8168BCYG as the core of our design.  They worked well.  However, when using the DM8168CCYG in our custom board, our custom boards failed to connected to the ethernet.

The part number of our ethernet PHY is ET1011C2-C1, and we take advantage of the uboot-dvr.bin.

   Could you please help me?

  • There is no change in EMAC module in silicon revision 2.1. Pls check booting Linux with NAND/ramfs file and set ignore_log_level in kernel bootargs  to check what error kernel reports when trying to turn on EMAC. If EMAC is up but you are facing connectivity issue try doing packet capture with wireshark and it may give some clue. There are UDDVR board and VVDN DVR reference design boards populated with silicon revision 2.1 and we didn't have to make any change in sw when migrating from 2.0 to 2.1 and didn't face any issue with EMAC.
