Hello guys,

Currently we are porting ducati for omap4 blaze board(AJ2.5).
As part of it, cold you help guide on how to port camera drivers for blaze?

Ive got the sources of OV5650 and OV5640 sensor drivers and Im trying t integrate them manually becasue when im trying to clone the v4l2 drivers(git://gitorious.org/omap4-v4l2-camera/yuanbds-omap4-v4l2-camera.git), im not getting the ov5650 and ov5640 drivers. 

The questions is only ov5650 and ov640 drivers are compatible for blaze or are there any other open source drivers that will help in getting the camera up on blaze board(AJ2.5). If it it only ov5650 and ov5640 drivers, can you help us with any guidance?

    There are app notes available for this but van not be shared in public domain. Please contact your TI representative to get the app notes.

    Hi Mayank,


    We have got the app note from the TI representatives and we are successfully able to take the pictures using the camera(only the rear).

    Currently we have two issues:

    1) unable to launch the front camera

    2) Unable to do the video recording from the rear camera.

    when i start video recording, im not able to record any video.

    some times, i get unfortunatly, ti.omap.camera or unfortunatly, gallery crashed messages would appear.

    once this message comes, im not able to launch the camera app itself.

    If i do it from the adb shell, i get the same message.

    Could you help me in this regard?

    1. Which board are you using? Which model front camera does it have?

    2. What is the error you are getting while recording? Can you please send Android and Ducati side logs?

    HI Mayank,

    Sorry for a delayed response, I was a bit sick.

    1. Which board are you using? Which model front camera does it have?

    Currently Im using Blaze board(4430)

    Rear camera is Sony(IMX060)

    Front camera is OV5650.

    2. What is the error you are getting while recording? Can you please send Android and Ducati side logs?

    When Im trying to start the video recrding using "adb shell am start -a android.media.action.VIDEO_CAPTURE"

    and when I push the red button for recording, no recording happens. It takes some time for me to get the preview though. Once i get the preview and try start recording the video(pushing red button), nothing happens.

    Please find the logs for the same:

    android side logs: camcorder_logs_ducati3

    ducati side logs: trace1

    Hi Mayank,

    Do you have any pointers form the logs that Ive provided from the previous post?

    Im attaching another ducati side log prior to the camcorder/ video recording launch for further reference.

    D/CameraSource(   97): Camera does not support setVideoSize()
    V/CameraSource(   97): isVideoSizeSupported
    V/CameraSource(   97): else_Video dimension (1280x720) is unsupported

    Looks like HAL does not have 1280x720 in the list of supported resolutions. Please check camera capabilities. I also see the error:

    D/DOMX    (   97): ERROR: failed check:status >= 0 - returning error: 0x81000 - Can't connect

    Which means that Ducati has crashed.
