Hi Sir, 

Yesterday, I evaluated EtherCAT slave function on TMDSICE3359 and CODESYS on PC

I also programed simple PLC to lighting LED on TMDSICE3359, every thing are OK.

But I found the temperature is increased of the processor while communicate between TMDSICE3359 and CODESYS.

Even, I think it's a little hot processor temperature.

Does anyone met the condition? the condition is normally?

    Eric,

    obviously the communication cycle time directly affects the load of the ARM processor. So it is expected to get warmer.

    But what is a 'little hot'? Do you see the temperature go out of speced range?

    Thanks for you reply.

    I didn't measure the temperature, I just touch the processor through my finger and I feel the processor hot. Do you think it is normally?

    in addition ,We have to consider if the board plus housing. due to it is PLC function that work on factory.

    Sorry, but I don't think we can comment on finger measuerments...

    If temperature is a concern for you you should at least estimate your power consumption and use appropriate engineering practices to see if the device can work in the specified environment. Obviously you can also do measurements to verify your theory. I don't think we have an issue with our evaluation boards as we are running them often for many days in full operational mode and I haven't seen a single temp failure. However this is just room conditions.

    We also offer dfferent temp grades of the devices usually.
