Reference Document to start understanding VIDEO capturing with DAVINCI processor

Hi All , 

I am about to start to learn about video capturing [I haven't worked with VIDEO interface ] 

-> Currently i have just started to know what are the parameters involved in understanding 
the VIDEO section like container , code, types of codec etc 

so could you guys please provide some valuable reference documents / tutorial etc to first at least understand which are the elements that i would be require to understand properly 
or 
Some documents which can help me understand the basic "flow" and various members involved. 


I am sorry if my question is not clear , because i am yet to get clear idea of the terminology and 
sub-sections . 

I will be using Davinci EVM with Linux
