I am using the ZCZ package and am in Schematic entry of my design. I plan on using the USB port as an alternate boot (to prevent us from bricking our product with a bad image on our onboard storage during development), and wish to boot from say a thumb drive. I have several questions after reading boot and USB data from the tech reference manual.
When the boot order is strapped to boot from USB device by the SYSBOOT pins does the AM3352 automatically turn on the PHY's and open the port? It seems like this would be the case in section 26.1.8 of the tech ref manual. However it also makes it look like for USB boot the AM3352 will only operate in client mode (meaning the AM3352 is not the host I'm assuming), does this eliminate using a thumb drive as a boot device?
