DDR3 Memory Support

What is the largest DDR3 memory size supported/recommended for use with AM335x? The AM335x starter kit uses 2Gb (128x16). Micron is telling me that the recommended memory size for use with AM335x is 1Gb, 2Gb, and 4Gbit. Just wanting to confirm the largest DDR3 memory size recommended for use with this product family.

The AM335X EMIF supports up to 1Gigabyte of LPDDR/DDR2/DDR3 memory. Only 16-bit bus width and 1 chip-select is supported, therefore 512Mx16 with a single chip-select is the largest supported memory.

I can confirm that, we are using the 1GB DDR3 ram, what also is the max size.

Have a look at Hynix DDR3 chips with 16bit interface :

There are also 8 Gigabit DDR3 devices with single chip select and x16 interface, so you could get to 1GB memory with just one chip. These parts also are available in x32
