omap4 + camera

Hi ,

I have compiled the android JB 4.1.2 source code. The blaze(omap4460) is up . All the inbuilt applications included in the source are working fne. But the only problem with the camera application, on invoking the camera application the application is crashing. Added the ducati binary also. On bootup in the debug messages there are some IPU error. Is that something to be worried or not. I'm using the USB camera & its being detected by kernel as /dev/video but no capture of image OR preview by usb camera.

Also on running the opencv camera capture application the application says " device doesnot have camera support or it s locked " . I want to make this opencv application work. can any one help me out to overcome this problem.7701.camera.txt

Do you have UVC driver and V4L2 enabled in kernel? Have you modified the CameraHAL to switch to V4L2 camera? The default is OMX.

I have enabled the UVC & V4L2 drivers in the kernel. Can you please let me know what changes need to be done in cameraHal related files. Actually my camera app is crashing on selecting it from UI.

Patches are already applied on JB codebase. Did you try following the steps to enable the use of the USB camera?

If patches are already applied, then why in source code the README file at ${MYDROID}/device/ti/panda/README says the any camera applications crashes. why it so their. Moreover now in my case the usb camera is being enumerated by kernel 3.0, but the usb camera is not able to show the preview. That means i hope their should be some changes to be made for android layers. Can you please suggest some options or patches, through which I can make the USB camera up.
