AM3517 Boot configuration mode

Hi,

AM3517 has boot configuration pin named SYS_BOOT[8],

and the manual sprugr0 says that it is used to select reduced pin mode.

Is it related to DDR2 Single-Memory and DDR2 Dual-Memory High Level Schematic mentioned

in the datasheet.(are these normal mode?)

Please let me know if there is any details about this pin.

Hi Prad,

SYS_BOOT[8] should be pulled low and will be changed to a reserved pin in the next version of the Data Manual.

This is an internal test pin and should always be pulled low for normal operation.

Hi Jeff

In the latest version of the TRM it still states that SYS_BOOT[8] is "used to select reduced pin mode. For more details refer to
System Control Module chapter."

In the 1.1 version of the silicon does this still hold true?

Any comments on the "SYS_BOOT[8]" pin,

previously you have mentioned that this pin should be pulled low and the manual description is different.

Please let know the right answer.
