DDR3 ECC on C6654

Hi all,

May I know the purpose of ECC DDR on C6654? Does C6654 must require additional ECC DDR?

  • Hi OC,

ECC or Error Checking & Correction memory provides a memory system that is immune to single-bit errors during accesses. Any memory system is susceptible to bit errors due to electrical or magnetic interference. If these errors cannot be tolerated by your application, you may want to implement your memory with the ECC bits included. Any single bit error will be detected and corrected before it can cause your system to use the bad data. More information can be found in the following article.

ECC memory is not required by the C6654. You will need to determine whether it is important to your application.
