Disabling HDMI on Beaglebone black Rev. C

Hi there,

I tried to disable the HDMI feature on the BBB through the uENV.txt.

All I did was uncommenting one of the lines that was already in the file.

##Disable HDMI
#cape_disable=capemgr.disable_partno=BB-BONELT-HDMI,BB-BONELT-HDMIN <--- I uncommented this line

I saved and exited the file and rebooted my BBB. This ended up bricking my BBB. Does any one know what happened? Also, I tried to flash from uSD afterwards but the BBB doesn't seem to have entered that mode. All 4 user LED's are lit instead of flashing like it normally would when you flash from uSD.

I did this on BBB Rev B before and I had no problems. Does anyone know how to disable the HDMI on rev C and how to revive the poor Beagle?

I was asking about the Linux distribution you are using. The "capemgr" is part of the Angrstrom distribution, which isn't supported on this forum. It is supported by the community over http://beagleboard.org/Community/Forums

I doubt if uSD flashing/power up is related anyhow to the Linux distribution... (You should specify the environment as a general rule)

I'd suggest telling us what is on your TTY console at power up.

As of what I can suggest: several times editing the uEnv.txt, in an attempt to disable the HDMI, resulted in eMMC reflashing. Do not know why. And not always (you were lucky you hadn't that).

I do not have rev.C BBB. I had the very like problems with rev.B

(this my post does not disavow the good suggestion to try the beagleboard forum, of course.)
