Sitara SDK version 7 has touchscreen calibration issues

Hi all,

Sitara SDK version 7 has touchscreen calibration issues. After the successful calibration the touchscreen does not work as expected. With the previous SDK there was no problem.

Following is my setup:

1. Ubuntu 12.04 host PC.

2. AM335x starter kit.

I created the SD card using the createsdcard.sh script in the bin folder.

I tried deleting the pointercal file and recalibrating the LCD but no luck.

Thanks,

  • Hi Harsha,

This is a known issue, already reported back to the Linux team, and currently under investigation.

  • Hi Harsha,

I believe we need to update the re calibration documentation.  The location of the pointercal file has changed in SDK 7.0.

Could you try the following and let me know if this was your issue?

Please use the following procedure to re-calibrate

    1. disable matrix - this can be done from the command line
      1. /etc/init.d/matrix-gui-2.0 stop
    2. remove pointercal files
      1. rm /var/run/media/mmcblk0p1/pointercal
      2. rm /etc/pointercal
    3. Then run ts_calibrate

  • Hi Jeff,

    Thanks for your reply.

I had resolved the issue by running the createsdcard script on another machine (Ubuntu 13.04), that is not logical though. ;)

It worked, otherwise would have definitely tried your procedure.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Jeff

I have few queries on AM57xx series , below are the requirements .

Please let me know whether AM57xx meets below requirements ?

Also suggest the complete part number for AM57xx which can meet below requirement.

    1. Required is 12MP camera interface. But what is the max. resolution camera can be interfaced to AM57xx?
    2. What is the maximum resolution camera still image can be stored in SD card?
    3. whether camera video streaming and HDMI display without storage is 1080p @ 60fps.
    4. whether camera video stored in SD card in H.264/MJPEG is 1080p @ 60fps.
    5. whether stored camera video in H.264/MJPEG is played on HDMI with 1080p @ 60fps.
