connect NAND FLASH to OMAPL137

HI

i want to build a new system based on omapl137evm with a  MT29F4G08ABAD-WP and  omapl137.

i connected MT29F4G08ABAD-WP to OMAPL137 based on image that attached. i don't use a socket.

Is this shematic correct?

what notes should i do in  PCB?

thank you

  • Hi Mahdi,

The connections are correct, there is no much PCB recommendation for NAND devices due to operation speed and asynchronous interface in nature, but you need to follow some general guidelines outlined below.

Place decoupling capacitors as close as possible to the flash device and in the current path to the device.

A value of around 0.1 µF ceramic capacitor with 0603/0402 package is a good starting point.

All signal traces should have a solid reference plane (either GND or VCC) in an adjacent layer

All signals should be routed with controlled impedance. Typically, the PCB is recommended to be built of

50 Ohm trace impedance with ±5% tolerance

The data bus should be routed with matching length to the reference of other control signals.

    Regards

    Antony
