what's the difference between "LINUXEZSDK-AM335X" and "LINUXEZSDK-AM35X"

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3517, AM3358

I noticed in there is also board_am3517_evm.c in "LINUXEZSDK-AM335X", but the kernel built in it can't boot correctly. It stops in "Starting kernel". The kernel built in "LINUXEZSDK-AM35X" with same config file can work.

BTW, two SDKs are version 6.0

Anybody knows the reason?

Thanks a lot.

  • These are two different parts. The am35x sdk is for parts such as the am3517 device. The am335x sdk is for parts such as the am3358. It is not expected that this sdk should work on am335x since that kernel for the am35x doesn't support the am335x.

  • Thanks for your answers. Is it possible to make few changes in AM335x sdk to work for am3517? I want to update kernel to > 3.0, but am35x sdk is 2.6. How can I do?

    Best regards

  • You may want to try the latest mainline kernel.  There is no official support for AM3517 there, but much of that device support has been pushed to the upstream kernel.
