Hi,

This is just a quick question.
Is SYS/BIOS supported on AM437x ?
I believe the recent version of SYS/BIOS (for example, bios_6_40_01_15) can run on A9 core, but I could not find AM437x as a supported device in release note.

Also, do you have a plan to release starterware for AM437x platform ?

Hi,

There will be an Industrial SDK based on SYS/Bios for the AM437x IDK. This will be available during the IDK RTM launch(August end timeframe)

Thanks for your reply. Ok, understood. As for starterware, do you have any information? If not pland, it would be great if you could suggest us migration guides from am335x or something like that...

Hi,

We will not have Starterware as a standalone product for AM437x. The SYSBIOS based Industrial SDK will use and package Starterware for Industrial EVM (IDK) and focusing on Industrial applications. Major changes are happening in the Starterware code base and simple migration from the older code base to the newer one might not be possible. The AM437x Starterware need to be considered like a new package, but there will be a user guide provided.

Thanks for the information. So you are saying that we can refer to the control code for the peripherals and regard them as a "starterware", which it will be packaged in Industrial SDK. Correct ?

As you know, many users are using am335x starterware, and they might consider about the migration from am335x to am437x in the near future. I understand your decision, but I still want you to plan the release of standalone starterware package for am437x...

Hi,

Industrial SDK release for AM437x will include the Starterware package itself. That way starterware will be available for users even if there is no standalone release.
