Difference between OMAP4 and OMAP5 with respect to ISS

Hi Experts,

What are the major differences between OMAP4 ISS and OMAP5 ISS ?

Regards,

Gajanan

  • Hi Gajanan,

The major differences between OMAP4 & OMAP5 ISS are:

     - OMAP5 ISS is capable of up to 1080p video record at 60 fps with digital zoom, video stabilization, and rotation, while OMAP4 ISS works at 30 fps.

     - OMAP5 ISS can 1080p stereo video record at 30 fps with digital zoom, video stabilization, rotation and autoconvergence

     - OMAP5 ISS SIMCOP has additional NSF3.0 filter with up to 190 MPix/s throughput at 426Mhz clock speed. Additionally OMAP5 SIMCOP frequencies are incresed:
NSF2.0 provides throughput of up to 127 MPix/s for YUV420 format and up to 85 MPix/s for YUV422 format

Lens distortion correction (LDC) has throughput of up to 213 MPix/s

iMX max clock speed is 426MHz

      - OMAP5 ISP has increased pixel throughput of up to 304MHz

    Best Regards,
    Yordan
