Hello everyone,

I want to flash DM365 through emulator. After I connected the targe board to CCS3.3 by emulator SEED XDS560, and when I load the program "nandwriter_ipnc_dm36x_0.2.0.out", There is a messagebox posted which showing the error message:

"Data verification failed at address 0x8E000000.

Please verity target memory and memory map."

But, when I do the same operation on another targe board--DM365 IPNC-MT5, there is no error message posted. The only difference between the two targe boards is the DDR2 chip. On the target board DM365, the DDR2 chip is HYB18TC1G160BF-2.5, and on the targe board--DM365 IPNC-MT5, the DDR2 chip is K4T1G164QE-HCE6.

Tthe difference of the DDR2 chips is the key resons for this error??

The issue can be because of the different DDR. But before concluding that, can you please confirm the following points:

1. Are you running the gel file on DM365 IPNC-MT5 as well as on the other DM365 target board?

2. If not, then you surely need to run gel file in the other DM365 target board you are using. DM365 IPNC-MT5 already would have some boot code in the NAND which runs and set up the DDR controller. But in your other target board, there might be no boot code in the NAND, so GEL file has to do the work of setting up DDR controller.

3. If you are using the gel file also, is it the same for DM365 IPNC-MT5 and your other DM365 target board? If it is working on DM365 IPNC-MT5 and not working on your other target board, then it points that DDR settings are not correct for that configuration. May be you can try to use lower configuration like ARM-270, DDR-216 MHz configuration from GEL file and see if it programs your DDR.

Hi All,

Sorry to know that so many people are still facing this problem. I had mentioned some steps in my earlier post but did not get a response on whether people tried it or not.

I am using CCS v3.3 with XDS510USB or XSD560USB JTAG and it works fine on my Appro/TI IPNC Reference Design. I would request you to try the following steps and let me know the feedback.

1. Change the boot mode of the camera to SD boot by modifying the switch on the debug board. It is mentioned in the Getting Started Guide.

2. Connect CCS to the target. Confirm that the ARM internal memory at say 0x2000 is accessible from CCS memory window

3. Run the gel file provided with IPNC Reference Design software kit. Please use the latest IPNC Ref Design software.

4. Check if DDR address is accessible (say 0x8E000000)

Some details are available in the User Guide of IPNC Reference Design, Sec 2.2.1
