In EZSDK capture_encode demo we have DEI connected after the capture component. The DEI operates in two mode:
DEI in deinterlacing mode
DEI in progressive bypass mode

No you should not enable deinterlacing on progressive video. It will result in very bad video quality as the deinterlace algorithm assume successive input fields are temporaly separated interlaced content and tries to extrapolate progressive frame from interlaced fields. What is your usecase for doing dei on progressive content.
Hi Badri,
The problem is I just don't have the original camera which output interlaced video... so I though of using some video generator, but not sure if I have any source which is interlaced right now.
If you have some idea for video generator to interlace 720x480 30fps , please tell me.
Do you think I can use laptop output for this purpose (I suspect it always output progressive video) ?
Thanks
Ran
