C674x and ethernet logic!

Hi!

We are considering using the built-in ethernet features of the C674x. We had some discussions with the sales person and the application engineer, but there is some confusion about its usability. The plan is to use the socket functions from the NDK. I have downloaded the NDK and checked out docs. It all appears to be there, the source code, the functions etc.. Nevertheless we are being advised not to use the Ethernet, because it could be too difficult (?). I was wondering if there are maybe some bugs in hardware because if which it would not work? Is the NDK free or does the NDK has some bugs because of which ethernet would not function? I feel pretty comfortable with the socket functions provided for the TCP/IP, because I worked with other devices and same functions before, but would like to hear some feedback from people that used this before. Is the TI TCP/IP stack free and functional as advertised?

Thanks!
