TI AM335x Industrial Communication Engine EVM board (version2) had broken twice

Dear all,

Our TI AM335x Industrial Communication Engine EVM board (version2) had broken twice, and
the detail description show as below:


First broken status:
After using AM335x ICE EVM board around one week, we found the temperature of
TPS65910A3 was very high. We checked the output voltage of TPS65910A3 and found VDAC
voltage approach zero. After removing R77, VDAC voltage of TPS65910A3 can output 1.8V,
but VDDS power pin of AM3359 had already be shorted to GND.


Second broken status:
We put new AM3359BZCZA80 replace original broken AM3359, and basic function of EVM
board can work normally. After using EVM board around one week, the same broken condition
had occurred again. We found some abnormal status:
(1) VDDS power pin of AM3359 is shorted to GND.
(2) Vdig2 power pin of AM3359 is shorted to GND.
(3) Vaux2 output voltage of TPS65910A3 drop to 2.6V (Normal voltage should be 3.3V)


Question 1: How to program PMIC for AM3359BZCZA80? Will the broken condition occur if
using PMIC default setting?


Question 2: VAUX2 can support up to 300 mA for the specific case of a 3.3-V output level.
How to change to specific case for 300mA?

Question 3: We found that the time of Vpmic_Vrtc reach +1.8V is later than the time of
RTC_PORZ goes high. When RTC_PORZ goes high, Vpmic_Vrtc still equal low and
BOOT[1:0]=00. Is it right? (Please refer to the attachment)


Question 4: Is there other reason cause AM3359 broken besides above descriptions?

The question for AM335x ICE EVM.pdf
