DM8168 USB Power: VDD_USB1_VBUS Input tie to +5VDC source

May VDD_USB1_VBUS input be driven directly with +5V source: or do we (as I suspect) need to have power supplies to DM816x sequenced up and running first?

Alternatively, Is  it permissible to put series current limiting resistor ~10K from the VDD_USB1_VBUS to the +5V source?
