AM3359 Boot Message

Hi Guys,

May I know what does the following message mean? Those message just pop up when DC jack is plugged onto the BeagleBone Black Like board.

U-Boot SPL 2013.07-g8797867-dirty (Jun 11 2014 - 14:37:07)
OEAP SD'MEC: 0

On the same SD Card, I try to boot it up on another board and all goes well. So SD Card is definitely working fine.

Please help guys!

Hi,

The first line is the U-Boot SPL version and it is quite normal to see that.

The second line should be "OMAP SD/MMC: 0", which is your boot source, but it seems like the output is messed up. Check your serial connection.

Hi,

Without the SD Card, I can continuously reading "cccccc" chars. I don't think it is my serial connection. I use the same serial converter on other boards but never seen this.

The CCCCCC characters are printed by the ROM code when no boot source was found, so the ROM code is waiting for a file from the UART.

Thanks. I know what the CCCC mean but I just want to tell you that there is nothing wrong on the UART. So why I am getting strange messages?
