I haven't found any documentation that addresses this question.

Hi Ignacio,
What type of encryption are you talking about ?
ie Secure part or something else (At linux side ?) ?
What is the processor are customer using ?
AES-128. Military application, so customer wants to validate/encrypt software image. OMAP-L138.
Hi Ignacio,
I presume that you are not using secure OMAPL138 processor.
Does enabling encryption affect the max speed at which we can run the part?
In my understanding, No.

If you are not using the secure OMAPL138 part then I would like to suggest to use secure OMAPL138 processor (only C6748 DSP core secured) which is using AES-128 encryption.
