DM368 HDMI input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP7002

Hi there,

My question may be one of the frequently asked... I am searching for the reference design to enable the HDMI input to the DM368. If there does not exist such a reference design, does anybody know if it is possible to do it? And how difficult?

Many thx~~

  • DM368 EVM has reference circuit for TVP7002+DM368. the interface is 16bit YUV422 w/ Embedded sync and Discrete sync.

Usually a HDMI receiver has such interface too.

There should be no difference on the capture driver except for necessary configuration of HDMI receiver.

Also on the DM368 appro IPNC references design the raw sensor interface can accept 16bit YUV w/ Discrete sync.   You can also refer to this circuit and software.

Let me know hwat is your concern.

  • Hi Eason,

Thanks a lot for your quick response! I can make my concern clearer based on your reply:

We want to connect DM368 to a professional camcorder with an HDMI interface. The output of the camcorder is already clean video. We want this raw video data to be fed into the video encode engine directly without any pre-processing offered by the imaging sensor interface.

I was wondering if both or any of the possible solutions you mentioned work for this case...

    Thanks again~

  • Hi It is possible that isp can be bypassed.

Since there is no available HDMI+DM368 demo, I guess you can work on EVM/IPNC to verify it.

BTW, if you are chinese user then maybe you can go to   http://www.deyisupport.com/question_answer/dsp_arm/davinci_digital_media_processors/default.aspx
