TMDSDC3359 - lose serial console

Hi Team,

I'm using the TMDSDC3359 to do some development. But it suddenly lost the control from serial console yesterday. I'm so sorry that I didn't save the logging message before close the TeraTerm window.

I've checked the cable and the COM port of PC, they are all normal. The only difference from my previous using is the original 12V power adapter is replaced with a 15V-1.25A one. But even with this one, the board has been worked normally for about 4 hours. When the problem appeared, I was doing the data transfer testing.

Now, after power on, the LED on the PLC SOM does not blink and none LED on the whole board blink. No any message come from the serial console.

Can you please suggest what's wrong with the board and how to resolve the problem?

Hi Biser,

Thanks a lot for your kind information.

But the max input for the TPS53313 is 16V and there's a fuse protect the power circuit. I think the DC is still OK because the TPS53313 could output 5V normally.

The SW2-Reset switch lost the reset function also. Maybe the reset circurt was damaged. Do you agree?

I advise you to contact the sales company you bought the product from, and ask them how to proceed.

That sounds like the DC input protection has been burned.

Thank you so much!

I think I've found the reason. It looks like the reset circurt has some issue since the PMIC_RESETOUTn is always low after the 15V power is adapted to the board.

It looks like the U5-TPS65910AA1RSL was damaged.
