Mouse not working in Linux SDK

Hi,

Do you have this file in your system: /dev/input/mice ?

Please try this:

cat < /dev/input/mice

Then move your mouse around and see if there are some garbage characters printed to the console.

If there are, open the following file for editing: /etc/init.d/matrix-gui-2.0

Modify the following line:

export QWS_MOUSE_PROTO=Tslib:/dev/input/touchscreen0

to

export QWS_MOUSE_PROTO=Auto:/dev/input/mice

I am using the host development machine and an EVM board. Where to read using the cat command ? I mean how to establish the debug session with the EVM board ? Is it through GDB with USB serail port or some other option ?

Which EVM board is this? If it is the GP EVM, you will need a serial to USB cable, connected to the serial port (UART0) of the EVM's base board. If it is the StarterKit EVM, then just use a microUSB cable to connect it to your host PC. Then use a terminal emulator program to connect to your board.

The commands that I posted above are to be executed on the target board.

How to do similar for Keyboard access ?

Also it would be great if you can point me to the download link of serial emulator program.

Please check the information about the QWS_KEYBOARD environment variable here: http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-4.8/qt-embedded-envvars.html

Try to add this variable to the /etc/init.d/matrix-gui-2.0 file and set it corresponding to your keyboard device inside /dev/input/.

If you are running Linux OS, you can try picocom or minicom. If you are running Windows OS, try PuTTY.

The serial terminal Minicom is opened and connected. It is prompting for username and password. What should be given ?
