Boot.

Hi,

I have one board with ARM9 processor, my NAND flash is having some problem  and I want to load other OS in it. How do I boot from either USB or SD ?

Recently I came to know about JTAG cable, can anyone tell me what is JTAG cable used for ? is it for flashing NAND ?

Thanks in advance

  • Specifically, which ARM9 device are you using (i.e. DM365, DM6446, etc.)?  It may or may not be possible to boot using SD.  In any case, you can still boot via TFTP, but I can't give you more specific instructions without knowing which device you are using.

Also, there is a serial flashing utility, and you can find instructions for that here http://wiki.davincidsp.com/index.php/Serial_Boot_and_Flash_Loading_Utility.

The JTAG is typically used for debugging from within CCS.  I would refer to the wiki for flashing NAND.

  • Hi,

I have board ready with DM6446, I want to know how do I start like does i need to configure BIOS first then it will OS...or BIOS is readymade available just need to boot if it is new board which design with other ODM.
