Regarding bit format for 1080P/I capture over VIP

Hi,

We are planning to use DM8168 in one of our custom design. But we have following questions.

How many simultaneous 1080P/I 30FPS can be captured and processed by DM8168? In our requirement we need to capture 4 simultaneous 1080P/I 30 FPS over HD-SDI interface.

Also, can we use 8 bit connection with VIP and capture 1080P/I data or 16 bit is at-lease required?

Hi Margarita,

Thanks for the link, but it is mentioned that we can provide 4 channel 1080P data in bt656 style.

Which we don't understand clearly. For sure we can do dual 8 bit ports and capture upto 16 D1 but we need to capture 4 1080P.

So, if you could throw some lights on this then it will be of a real help.

Hi It is possible to do 4ch 1080p30 capture.

But for 4ch 1080i60 usecase, there is DEI module performance limitation, so you will not be able to do 4 ch 1080i60 de-interlace.
