display of demo 4D1 usecase (DVR RDK)

Hello,

I have a question about RDK demo:
1. the demo of 4d1 enc-dec-dis , record the channel into seperate files. Is it possible to save the D1 mux channels into single channel, so that decoding will be easier ? 
2. In 4D1 progressive enc-dec-dis  usecase (the first option in menu)  the encoded output is connected to the decoder input. When trying to run this demo with EVM dm814x, with Mistral IO expansion daughter card (4 x tvp5158), I get the following result. I see that the video is placed only in the upper half of the screen. And I see 2 similar videos of the camers.
  2.a Are the 2 videos represent: one of them the camera-display route and the other the enc-dec-dis route ?
  2.b Why do I get this strange video screen on the upper screen only ? Do I need to change some runtime settings ?

    Some suggestions,

    1. Maybe you can use SWMS link to merge the 4D1 into a single stream. (I am not sure)

    2. I am not sure if the usecase has substream, for example CIF streams for preview or enc-dec demo.   You can change the layout under Display setting menu.

    I execute the demo AS-IS, without code modifications on DM814EVM with Mistarl IO expansion (using tvp5158).
    Is there any reason why it looks like that?
    What do you see when you operate this demo on your EVM ?

    Hi,

    I dont have DM8148 EVM so I am not able to run the same demo . Sorry.

    I check the usecase you are using (DVRRDK 4.0.1),     among these 8 channels displayed,  4 are D1 preview, and the others are from decoded streams.  You can also check the option under Display setting,  the swith channel , I remember.  

    BTW,    I dont think the Mistral IO expansion board has 4 TVP5158 devices.   What you are talking about should be Spectrum Digital VS daughter board, right ?

    Hi,
    Mistral web page is quite bad, can't download the expansion schematic, but I do see on board, it says Mistral IO expansion revC, and I see 4 tvp5158 chips on board.
    I just not yet understand why the layout appears like.

    Hi Eason,

    Sorry. My mistake.

    It's Digital spectrum (not Mistral's) rev C with 4 tvp5158.
    There is no picture missing, I just don't understand why the layout of 4x4 is as it appears on half screen.

    Hi Ran,

                 You can get the detailed information of the run time parameters including software mosaic from printing the detailed statistics. Printing option is provided as a part of the uart console based demo. Please check your running configuration from there.

    Hi Ran,

                There is nothing wrong in the display. As you have selected 4X4 layout and use case of 4d1 progressive, this is supposed to show 4 channel live view and 4 channel enc->decode->display path. Don't have anything to show for the rest of 8 channels (as layout is 4X4).Statistics show invalid channel number for other layouts. If you want to see the mosaic getting filled, either change the layout mode or change the use-case.
