Using EDB4064B3PB-8D-F with OMAP 4430

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: 4430

We are planning on using EDB4064B3PB-8D-F memory with Omap4430.

Our design is based on the Pandaboard, which used EDB8064B1PB-8D-F, which is obsolete.

Upon comparing the datasheets, we noticed the newer module has 2 chip-select while the older module has 4 CS, as well as a couple other pin difference between the two models.

We would like to know the compatibility of Omap 4430 with the newer module as well as changes we need to make to the Pandaboard design in order to use the newer ddr2.

Thanks!

  • Hi Zhen,

the older chip have 2 more dies so more chip select signals are required.  You can browse the web for  similar memory configuration and appropreate patch for it.
