TI RTOS on c64x+

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hi All,

I have a very basic Q.

Can TI-RTOS be used on c64x+ based Processors??

Please help me out.

  • Hi Venkatesh,

The TI-RTOS product does not ship C64x+ support.  However, the standalone TI-RTOS Kernel product does ship the libraries and platforms.  You can download the TI-RTOS kernel here.

  • Thanks Emmanuel.

I need further information. Does it support Cortex A9 on L138 Or Cortex A8 on DM8168?

Also there are some video trainings available for TI rtos kernel. But i am not finding any such thing for TI RTOS.

Do we have video training available for TI RTOS? (not for ti rtos kernel)

Also do we have demo codes for TI RTOS???

The OMAP-L138 & DM8168 are also supported.  Here is a complete list of supported devices.

There are videos to discuss the OS components and tools on the TI-RTOS processors wiki page: here.  Please refer to the product release notes to determine which components are supported for your development platform.

Can you explain what you mean by "demo codes"?

  • Hi Emmanuel,

    Thanks for the info.

What I am looking into is basically on TI RTOS not on TI RTOS kernel(Not sys/bios).

Note: Here when I say TI RTOS,  i mean i am referring to IPC, ndk, uia etc and when I say TI rtos kernel, I mean i am referring to sys/bios portion of TI RTOS only.

So basically, My Question is whether ti rtos (apart from its kernel sys/bios) is supported on DM8168 and OMAP l138.

From the link provided by you, I can see that, it lists supported devices for sys/bios(ti rtos kernel) not the ti rtos.

Also regarding video training, again video training is available for TI rtos kernel but not TI rtos in general.

Regarding demo code, What i meant was example codes which usually demonstrates the TI rtos capabilities.

    Please provide the above information.

  • Hi Emmanuel,

Additional Note: I am looking for help on TI RTOS on  DM8168 and OMAP L138 both ARM and DSP side only.

It would be great if you could provide the above information at earliest.

  • Hi Venkatesh,

    Thanks for the clarification.

With the exception of peripheral drivers (not supported for these devices), all other TI-RTOS components (IPC, NDK & UIA) support both the ARM and C674x architectures on DM8168 and OMAP-L138.

Sorry my mistake, we do not have training videos for the other TI-RTOS components.  However, you can find tutorials and example code for these components by visiting their respective wiki pages & docs.

    IPC:

    • User's Guide: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/IPC_Users_Guide

    UIA:

    • Example projects can be found in installed product.
    • UIA System Analyzer tutorials: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/System_Analyzer_Tutorials_(CCSv5)

    NDK:

    • NDK User's Guide: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spru523i/spru523i.pdf

  • Hi Emmanuel,

Thanks for the info. I would like to propose to include TI RTOS on c64x+ cores and develop video training session along with additional notes on TI RTOS other components- Just like it is done for TI RTOS kernel componet.

That gives a great start to every one using TI processors.

    Regards,

    Venkatesha
