AM335x vs. AM437x - Software compatibility?

Ah... the usual "read the manual" answer -

Yes it has. But it lists only that there are more GPIOs on AM437x than on AM335x, that there are more timers, more UARTS etc.

But the question was, if the peripherals are binary compatible. And this is - so far - only stated for I²C, RTC and MMC peripherals. For the other peripherals it states only the difference in numbers. Also I have to stress that the list is not complete (PRCM, CM, INTC and probably some others I didn't think of at the moment) are missing.

Now I have three options:

* Rely on the assumption that your engineers did not reinvent the wheel and used the existing IP cores in the new part as well.

* Assume that there is no compatibility, because it was not mentioned.

* Ask someone who should know.

I apologize for choosing #3...

I think the http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x_to_AM437x_Hardware_Migration_Guide states quite clearly which peripherals are identical between the two devices. There is no document which describes the full delta between them.
