Question about BSDL file for TMS320C6672ACYP

Hi,

In my design I am using the TMS320C6672ACYP DSP and I am sharing the SPI-wires with an external flash and another device.

The problem that I have with this, is that if I would like to program the flash (quad SPI device) during boundary scan, I get contention on my SPI-wires D0 and D1, which are connected to my flash device as well as another device.

This problem could be resolved if I had a BSDL file in which it would be possible to drive the TMS320C6672ACYP in High-Z mode during boundary scan. Is there a BSDL model for this device that is capable of doing this?

Hi Senthil,

These are indeed the BSDL models, but I have already got these. I actually need one, in which the pins of the DSP can be tristated during boundary scan. Are these available?

Hi Danny,

The SPI pins in the BSDL model for the C6672 uses the standard BC_7 cell with the BC_2 control cell. This is a bidirectional cell with tri-state control, the same as the GPIO pins. You should be able to put this pin into a HIGHZ mode.

Hi Danny,

The BSDL model provides a description of the IOs for the C6672. The BC_7 cell identifier is part of the standard cells defined in the STD_1140_1_2001 release. The model identifies the capability of each pin. Your boundary scan test code can take advantage of those capabilities. You can't change the model because that would redefine the capabilities of the part.
