AM335x: Ethernet port

Hi community member,

Please let me confirm the following basic question.

Regarding to datasheet, PRU has two MII interfaces.

Also, AM335x has two port GMII interfaces.

Thus, can am335x support 4 ethernet ports?

Hi Kato,

There are several things that have to be taken into consideration. Pinmuxing - the CPSW ports at least partly overlap with the PRU ports. Another thing is software - currently Linux supports only the CPSW ports for standard Ethernet. The PRU forts are used for industrial protocols, like EtherCAT for example.
