hi all,

i have doubts regarding DSP/BIOS & DSPLINK. Are they different or same?

If different what is the difference? Is it required to have both together?

DSPLINK = DSP/BIOS LINK.

It is the link between ARM (running LInux) and DSP core (running DSP/BIOS). You need them together.

DSP/BIOS is the Operational System that runs on the DSP.

DSP/BIOS comes with Code Composer Studio, but it can also be downloaded free at:

DSP/BIOS Product Folder

As many DSP-based applications use a microprocessor to control a DSP. To meet this need, TI has released OMAP and DaVinci processors, which combine an ARM and DSP core in a single chip implementation for video applications. DSP/BIOS Link is designed to facilitate communication between two processors (like ARM and DSP), either on the same chip or in discrete devices on a board.
