DSK 5510 : Simultaneous use of line and mic input

Hello,

I am trying to interface two mic to DSK5510.  I have connected microphones to mic input directly and to line input with preamplifier. 

When I read mic or line one at a time and send it to DAC it works absolutely fine. But when I try to read both one after another and send just mic input to DAC, I just heard noise. But if I send line input to DAC it works well. 

I am switching input to ADC from line to mic and vice a versa by writing 0x0014 and 0x0010 to codec register respectively.

Why i am not able to hear mic input? Do i need to do any additional setting of codec?

    Hi,

    I am not sure whether you tried this: if not can you try and let me know the outcome.

    Try configure codec register to 14 Mic mode and do not switch to line mode, during this mode were you able to hear audio from Mic correctly ? ( assuming your other Codec configurations correct).

    Hello,

    When I configure codec with 14 (i.e. mic mode) it worked fine and also when I configure codec with 10( i.e. line mode ) it worked fine.

    When I connected line signal at mic input and and mic with preamplifier to line input and switched input to ADC by configuring codec with 14 and 10 while sampling data and  just send data read on line input to DAC, I heard both signal from line and mic input. Why would I heard data from both input as I just send data to DAC from line input.

    Do i need to reset codec to update its configuration every time? 

    First I would like to know, Is it possible to use both line and mic input simultaneously? I need to sample data from mic and then line alternatively. Using mic or line one at a time is working absolutely fine.

    Did anyone interfaced two microphones to TI's any DSK or used line and mic input together?
