DM3730 with MIPI DSI qHD (960X540 ) display

The DM3730 documents specifies that there is a support for MIPI DSI but previous post in the forums indicates that it is not supported. does it support MIPI DSI or not? if yes, are there any restrictions? if not do you have any ideas how to connect MIPI DSI display to the DM3730?

Moreover, our display is qHD resolution ( 960X540 ) which is not divided by 8. if we will try to change the display driver to work with 960X544 or 960 X536, for example, what will be the effect on the display? is there another solution?

Hi Rona,

The DM3730 supports MIPI DSI. For more details refer to the DM37x TRM section 7.2.2 LCD support with MIPI DSI.

It is possible to have some problems with vertical resolution which is not divided by 8. You can try to modify the display driver to work with 960x544 resolution but only if it is possible to configure the display to skips the last 4 rows. Otherwise try with 960x536.

If you are looking at the TRM Table 1-3 there is an inaccuracy and some checks are missed. Unfortunately I'm not sure whether will there be a new version of the TRM with corrected table 1-3.
You can find more detailed and correct description of the MIPI DSI in the TRM sections 7.1 and 7.2.2.
