I would like to run the StarterWare UART example on our custom h/w. It is mostly based on the EVM for the OMAP-L138 but has a NOR flash.

I can build the application and was wondering how to flash it. The flashing process as outlined here

talks about the StarterWare boot loader (which does some basic system config) which then loads my application.

Would I be right in thinking that I have to modify the boot loader to load from NOR flash i.e. replace the Nand section?

Sorry - to clarify what I would like to do is use StarterWare. That consists of a boot loader and an application.

(I can flash the board when I use Linux/U-boot etc so that is OK normally).

But to debug a board issue I need to be able to run an application inside the controller SRAM, no EEPROM access and no operating system etc. StarterWare can do that but I need to customise the StarterWare boot loader.

Hence the question on how to switch from NAND to NOR for that application. I have the source so will take another look.

HI Boris,

Yes. As you said, you have to modify the starterware bootloader for NOR boot like NOR init and copy etc.,
