66AK2H : Using spread spectrum for each clks

Dear specialists

Our customer is considering to use spread spectrum to reduce EMI noise.
Please let me know about the below.

1. Are there any limitation about using use spread spectrum for each clk?
2. If yes ,

- Which do clk sources have limitation?
- In that case , what rate can they spread spectrum for each clk?

If you have recommended devices about the above , please let me know.

Best regards.

  • Hi Alpha,

The only clock input that we have tested with spread spectrum clocking is the PCIE reference clock input. PCIE often uses spread spectrum clocks on their backplanes to reduce EMI noise. All the other clocks must meet the specifications found in the data manual. We can't recommend any devices since we haven't done any testing with spread spectrum on the other clock inputs.
