I'm working on implementing an SDR on a TMS320C6416 have the code layed out,just saw a thread on a phase locked loop controller segment built in the board.I'm a little confused.Can I use this segment to implement an actual PLL(one used in communication systems)?Or should I just carry on with my own implementation

In the context of a processor the PLL hardware is used for generating a higher frequency clock from a lower frequency clock. No, the c6416 does not have PLL hardware for communications.
