No Reaction on Debbuging ICE AM3359 v1 with i2c_led

Yes i did it step by step, but no reaction on the Board.

Also suspending and resuming has no effect.

Confusing for me is that debugging the isdk_spi-flasher is working.

with the flasher i can write to the memory and the i2c_led-example works.

as well the ethercat example is working.

i#m very frustrated.. furthermore this is my bachelorthesis..

do you have any tip for direct support?

Can you be more specific on the issue you are observing? Is the control coming to main? Is the application crashing?

i took a screenshot of the issue:

there you can see the pc is on main()

when i press the resume button there is noch reaction.

the cortexA8 changes the state from suspend to running.

anyway there is no error messages in the console.

Which board are you working on? What tools(CCS, SYS/Bios, ISDK etc.)?

I'm working with TMCXICE3359 v1 REV. 1.0A

NDK 2.24.00.01

AM335x_sysbios_ind_sdk_1.1.0.4

The ISDK examples are tested over ICEv1 and v2. The tools you use looks good too. Can you step into the code and check what's going wrong?

if i step trough the code there is no error..

i start at the main till i reach the BIOS_start().

then there isn't anymore to step.

do you have a direct contact for me? 

After Bios_start, the application will execute the Tasks created in Main. In this case, put a breakpoint in taskFxn, the control should get there.

if i reach line 106: task_sleep(2000) i cant step anymore.

the buttons for step into / step over are grey.

task_sleep adds a delay of 2 seconds, which means you will get into the next line only after 2 seconds.

What's the status of the LEDs at this point? If the LEDDIGOUTSetVal is called, all 8 LEDs should be on.

waiting for 2 seconds was my hope but there was no reaction.

the leds didn't change the status.

That should not happen. Are the UART logs up as expected?

where can i read the uart logs?

in the register view in debug mode?

Connect via Teraterm or any other terminal app. The setting to configure are - host serial port is configured at 115200 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit and no flow control.

the caracters were wery abstarct and confusing.

         Not sure why you are not getting proper characters. The Hterm configurations looks okay to me(from the screenshot)  though i havent used it. Can you try displaying it on any other serial console terminal application.

i dont think that this is the point of using the woring terminal program.

the led status didn't change although the pc counter reaches the LEDDIGOUTSetVal().

i think there is anythin wrong with my board.

       Are you able to run the prebuilt binaries that comes along with the ISDK installation.You can try the i2c_led example prebuilt binary to make sure your board is working.

there is only a *.bin available. i cant debug this file.

i can flash it only to the memory.

Hi,

         You can flash and check whether the board is working or not. These prebuilt binaries are tested and hence you can rule out board related issues

possibly my english is difficult to understand, but i mentioned in previous posts, tha the board is working when i flash the memory.

the board itself is working, however the debug does not.

what's about a direct phone support in this case?

        In this scenario ( SPI binary is working and the .out is not working), the only case i can think of is loading  wrong GEL files. You need to use teh file TMDXICE3359.gel for ICEV1.

i proceeded like in the getting started guide.

loading the trarget file, executing the gel-script and then loading the program.

On the build error, it's because somehow your project includes AM3359.cmd(in Project Properties->General->Linker Command File).

I still can't figure out why you can't debug the generated .out . Just to make sure, here are the steps to be followed.

* Create a proper target connection, and launch it
* Connect to A8
* Suspend the processor(Pause symbol). If there is a valid bootloader and application in NOR/SPI, the application would execute by default. To prevent this put a hardware breakpoint at 0x402f0400(in case you selected SPI boot mode) or 0x08000000(in case you selected NOR boot mode). Then do a "System Reset". One of these breakpoints should be hit at this point.
* Execute the GEL scripts(load and execute TMDXICE3359.gel)
* Load the .out
* Execute the application
