OMAP4460 Availability

This question arises from the fact that Pandaboard manufacturers halted the production because of unavailability of OMAP4460.

Is it safe for me to use OMAP4460 in my single board computer as the main processor, which I would sell as a scalable product in future? Is the availability (in thousands not hundreds) assured for at least the next two years?

You should contact TI sales representative to obtain more information about availability of OMAP4 devices in the future.

Sales reps always say that "it is and will be available though we can't control the future actions of TI."

The notification strongly suggests that OMAP4 is getting discontinued. Is that so?

Yes, TI stops e2e support forum for OMAP4, therefore this SoC is not recommended for new development.

#Q2: Sales reps always say that "it is and will be available though we can't control the future actions of TI."

- We are not familiar with sales policy of TI.
